Discover your own healing powers in our Ayahuasca Ceremonies. Experience the world’s most powerful healing plant – Ayahuasca from the Amazon – and unlock your inner healing abilities during our transformative ceremonies. Led by our experienced shaman, Sergio, these ceremonies offer you the opportunity to heal emotional wounds, clearly connect with your feelings, and expand your consciousness. During the Ayahuasca ceremony, you’ll encounter moments of silence and deep self-reflection, as well as times when we support your journey with rhythmic instruments and sacred songs. The Icaros and chants help create a harmonious atmosphere and often carry precise messages—spiritual teachings, insights, or intuitive guidance. We place the highest importance on the safety of all participants. That’s why our Ayahuasca ceremonies take place in a protected and sacred environment where you can feel secure and focus entirely on your inner experience.
Structure of the Ayahuasca Ceremony
The Ayahuasca ceremony starts between 9:00 and 10:00 PM.
Preparation is key, and we place great emphasis on coming together for a group integration session before the ceremony begins. This allows everyone to arrive fully, connect with one another, and settle in. Before the ceremony starts, each participant finds a cozy spot and gets comfortable.
When it’s time to begin, we drink the first cup of the sacred Ayahuasca together. If you don’t immediately feel a strong connection with the medicine or your inner self, you may need to take additional cups for the effects to become noticeable. Once you’ve taken the Ayahuasca, it can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes for the medicine to fully activate.
It’s important to try not to purge within the first 10 minutes after drinking, so your body has time to absorb the medicine. Also, we encourage you to remain seated during the ceremony to allow the Kundalini energy to flow upward through your body.
Who leads the ceremonies in Medellín?
Our Ceremonies are guided by the healer Sergio Henao, a philosophy professor who now works and heals with the herbal medicine – the blessed Ayahuasca – for over 15 years.
He was personally trained by the Colombian-wide known Taita Mama Concha from the Kamentsa Biyá tribe.
Her medicine tradition has been passed on for many generations
Sergio is particularly characterized by his gentle modesty and deep humility. According to his estimation, this healing art is about meeting the shaman of one’s own soul so as not to lose oneself in spirituality or continue to seek answers in the outside world in vain.
Sergio Henao and our team, with extensive and proven levels of experience, take you into our care by providing you with personalized attention during the ceremony, and focusing on your specific needs and purposes.

What do I need to bring to the ceremony?
Be sure to bring a warm jacket or poncho (ruana) as the nights in Giradota can get cold.
In general, you should dress comfortably and cozy to be as comfortable as possible.
You can also bring your own blanket and a mat to sleep on, although the ideal is to stay awake all together during the entire night.
Feel free to bring some fruit, bread, and fluids (electrolytes are best; you can get them at any pharmacy or drugstore here) so you can rehydrate in the morning. Because dehydration can be an effect of the medicine.
Where do our Ayahuasca ceremonies take place?
The Ayahuasca ceremonies take place in Giradota (Antioquia) near Medellín (Colombia) in the house of the curandero Sergio Henano – the Casa Vientre. In the middle of Colombia’s heart where you can not only connect with the origins of your soul, but also with the roots of the beautiful nature.
Directions:

You can reach Las Sombrillas by taking the Mangarriba bus, which runs hourly and leaves at the corner of Banco de Bogotá, or one block from the park, at the corner of Junin Pharmacy, on the right at the Expreso Girardota parking lot. You can also take a cab or mototaxi from Girardota Park (next to Banco de Bogotá) following the instructions above.
From Medellín, you can take an Uber or cab. The cost is 60,000 pesos; that’s about 12 $ for a ride of about 40 minutes.

Where does the Ayahuasca come from, and what is it’s purpose?
Ayahuasca is a deeply healing medicine from the jungle, originating from across the Amazon region—Colombia, Peru, parts of Venezuela, and Ecuador. Intense transformation is a natural part of the Ayahuasca experience. Once ingested, a great deal of energetic processing takes place, which is why it’s essential for ceremonies to be led by someone with extensive experience—someone who knows how to navigate and guide others through the process: a shaman.
We work alongside the Kamsá family, traditional guardians of Ayahuasca who have shared this sacred medicine for thousands of years. The ceremonial setting is a vital part of the Ayahuasca journey. The ritual space holds and supports the spiritual process that unfolds with each participant.
At the core of our ceremonies is your personal transformation. You drink the Ayahuasca to learn from it, to heal through it, and to deepen your spiritual growth. It’s not about chasing a high or having a psychedelic adventure. It’s about pursuing a meaningful spiritual goal within your process.
Every one of our Ayahuasca ceremonies is designed to support your expansion of consciousness.
Private Ayahuasca ceremony
If you want to book a private ceremony with your friends, your family or a very personal ceremony for yourself, this option is especially for you.
Channel your emotions to regenerate the universal quality of life.
Ayahuasca is a powerful healing medicine from the native Amazon rainforest (Colombia, Peru, parts of Venezuela, Ecuador). Intense experiences are inevitable in an Ayahuasca ceremony and a lot of energy is transformed there. Therefore, the ceremony must be performed by someone who has extensive experience in taking Ayahuasca and knows exactly how to react to certain situations. We are companions of the Kamsá family, who have shared their sacred Ayahausca for millennia.
The Ayahuasca ceremony plays an important role in taking the sacred medicine, since the ritual environment is quite important for drinking Ayahuasca.
Our Ayahuasca ceremonies focus on your spiritual process. You drink the plants to learn and heal through them. It’s not about having fun or having a psychedelic experience, it’s about the spiritual goal you pursue in your process. Each of our ceremonies will help you expand your consciousness.
How do I integrate what I have learned in the Ayahuasca ceremonies into my life?
Integrating the knowledge from the Ayahuasca ceremony into your daily life is the most important step in the overall expansion of your consciousness. What will you take with you from your Ayahuasca ceremony, and how will you change your life after the ceremony? Ask yourself what kind of relationship you have with yourself, your family, and friends. How do you react to situations that provoke you? Are you active in your day? Are you incorporating new habits into your daily life? These are some questions to measure how far your Ayahuasca ceremony has really taken you on your path.
As a beginner, it is not that easy to maintain the high state of consciousness of Ayahuasca in your daily life. But you can use the new energy that Ayahuasca gives you to free yourself from your previous habits. Be sure to experience your day with heightened awareness and your world will be transformed.

FAQ
Here you will find all the answers to the questions we receive most frequently.
How do I prepare for an ayahuasca ceremony?
The most important thing when preparing to take ayahuasca is to have a positive mindset! However, there are also further recommendations for preparing for an ayahuasca ceremony. These include a diet in which you avoid lactose and meat for at least 3 days prior to your ceremony, as these foods are somewhat heavier on the stomach. This category also includes spicy food such as onions, citrus fruits and garlic. Take these recommendations into account so that you feel well during your ayahuasca ceremony. You should not consume any strong drugs or marijuana for at least a week prior to the ceremony. It is best to avoid any kind of sexual intercourse in the days leading up to your ceremony, as this creates an energy exchange. When the wisdom of the medicine receives you, you want to be surrounded by your own aura. This way, the effect of the ayahuasca plant will unfold its full power to you.
Are you taking antidepressants or do you have heart or respiratory problems? Then please consult your doctor before your ayahuasca ceremony. Only they can assess whether taking ayahuasca is dangerous for you or whether side effects may occur.
If you follow these preparations, you will be ready for your ayahuasca experience and this is your sign that you should finally book your ayahuasca trip.
Is ayahuasca dangerous or deadly?
The sole intake of ayahuasca medicine has no lethal effect on an organism. Only the interaction of ayahuasca with other drugs, medication or illnesses can be dangerous. This is because ayahuasca tea contains the body’s own active ingredient dimethyltryptamine (DMT) as well as Mao inhibitors. In combination with other drugs or medication (e.g. antidepressants), the monoamine oxidase-inhibiting effect of ayahuasca poses a danger to life. The enzyme complex monoaminooxidase actually ensures that substances such as DMT are broken down quickly in the body before they cross the blood-brain barrier. This enzyme complex must therefore be inhibited during a retreat so that ayahuasca can actually have an intensive effect on the brain.
If you need to take medication, please consult your doctor before an ayahuasca ceremony. This also applies if you suffer from an increased heart rate or high blood pressure.
To prepare for your ayahuasca ceremony, we recommend that you do not take any medication two weeks prior to your ceremony. Then, nothing will stand in the way of your ayahuasca experience.
By the way, birth control pills have no effect on drinking ayahuasca or vice versa. However, you should make sure to take them early enough before the ceremony so that your body can fully absorb the active ingredient and you are still protected against pregnancy.
How much does ayahuasca cost and where can you buy it?
Under no circumstances should you buy ayahuasca and consume it alone. There are several important reasons for this. Ayahuasca is generally not freely available for sale and is not even offered commercially. Of course, you should never obtain it illegally on the black market. Apart from the fact that this is illegal anyway, it can also be very dangerous to consume ayahuasca of unknown origin without professional supervision. For example, the ayahuasca could also be stretched with other substances, and it is not possible for laymen to reliably assess the effects of a tea made from the ayahuasca plant. The preparation of the plant brew is a real challenge and should therefore only be carried out by knowledgeable shamans. A responsible shaman knows his own home-made ayahuasca medicine very well and can guide and support you during your ayahuasca experience if, for example, you experience intense spiritual experiences and emotions during your ceremony.
Here you can book an ayahuasca ceremony with competent and responsible shamans and find out about the associated costs. Or perhaps an entire ayahuasca journey or retreat is just what is right for you.
